Alumnus featured in leading lifestyle magazine

IMI alumnus Darren Teoh has been named in Prestige Malaysia's '40 under 40' feature as one of the country's rising young stars...

We are always to delighted to catch up on our alumni's progress and it was especially pleasing for us to see one alumnus featured in Malaysia's premier lifestyle magazine. 

Chef Darren Teoh was featured in a special feature for Prestige Malaysia highlighting the work of 40 young Malaysians making big impressions in their respective fields.

Leading a team of young chefs at Dewakan restaurant (an educational entrepreneurial effort with IMI partner KDU University College) Darren was lauded for his use of indigenous ingredients and reinterpretations of classic Malay dishes.

Since graduating from IMI with his MBA in International Hospitality Management in 2012, Darren has compiled a highly impressive CV with stints at internationally renowned restaurants such as Noma in Denmark and three-Michelin-starred Amador.

On his return to Malaysia, Darren collaborated with his previous school KDU University College to launch Dewakan, which also acts as an educational resource for aspiring chefs as well as a fine-dining restaurant with a growing reputation.

He also lectures on molecular gastronomy to help train and develop the next generation of aspiring culinary Wunderkinder.

We are very proud of Darren and his achievements and would also like to take the chance to congratulate him on his recent marriage!
