Our Partner Engagement Programme saw us welcome representatives from Thai schools Burapha and Chiang Mai Universities on campus...

Maintaining strong ties with our many international partners is one of the cornerstones of our school's mission
.

With representatives, agents and partner schools located across the globe, regular communications and joint activities promote strong academic and cultural collaboration.

As part of this academic collaboration, we run a regular Partner Engagment Programme (PEP) where we invite representatives from our international partner schools to spend time with us here on the IMI campus.

For our most recent PEP, we were delighted to welcome delegates from Thai schools Burapha University and Chiang Mai University.

As well as getting the chance to sit in on classes, meet our current students and experience the scenery and culture of Switzerland, there was also the opportunity to visit some of our internship placement partners.

"The PEP is a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with our partner schools' staff and faculty and introduce them to the unique environment of IMI. These visits further strengthen our global ties and allow us to build even stronger foundations for future collaboration."

Mr. Gareth Currie - IMI Academic Dean

The first week of the programme saw five members of faculty from Burapha University - including the Dean of their International College as well as members of the leadership team from their hospitality and tourism programmes - enjoy our Swiss hospitality.

One of the highlights of their trip was being reunited with their former students, currently doing their Swiss internship placements at hotel Beau Site in the picturesque ski village of Adelboden.

It was fantastic for the Burapha staff to see how well their students were progressing, both personally and professionally, and how much they were enjoying the chance to put their hospitality theory into practice on their placements.

The second week of the programme saw two more members of staff from Burapha University visit us along with two guests from Chiang Mai University.

As well as academic and school presentations, our guests also had time to sit down with the IMI Admissions team to look at different transfer pathways for their Thai students to complete their Bachelor studies with us here in Switzerland.

They also enjoyed a visit to one of our local internship partners, the iconic Château Gütsch set in the hillside above Luzern with spectacular views of the city.

Enjoying a guided tour of the iconic Château Gütsch in Luzern.

Here they were treated to a guided tour of the property by IMI alumnus - and award winning cocktail Bar Manager - Michael Müller who shared his own happy IMI memories with our visitors as well as explaining how Château Gütsch now works closely with IMI to provide our current students with exciting internship opportunities.

Both sets of guests thoroughly enjoyed their time in Switzerland and were highly complimentary of the warm welcome they received from all IMI staff members and students.

The two weeks were highly successful in allowing us to forge closer bonds with the staff from Burapha and Chiang Mai and map out ways in which our institutions can collaborate even more closely going forward to deliver outstanding academic outcomes for all our students.

We thank our guests for taking the time to visit us and hope to see them again in Switzerland in the very near future!
