Seasonal Service

19 December 2019

Roles were reversed as we held our Christmas Apéro event and the IMI staff took over service duty for the day...

Christmas is the season of giving and, after another year of hard work, the IMI staff wanted to give something back to our students.

Throughout each semester, students work tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of operations at the school. However, for our seasonal Festive Apéro, it was the staff and faculty members who donned the aprons and manned the pass.

With a selection of festive beverages including glühwein and Mr. Georgiou’s Christmas Cocktails as well as a range of snacks and petit fours, our students were soon full of festive cheer!

No Christmas party would be complete without a visit from Santa and, as luck would have it, he happened to be passing through Kastanienbaum at just the right time. (Although we still find it odd that him and Mr. Pinkston have never been seen in the same room together…)

In addition to the food and drink, we used the apéro to premiere the IMI staff’s take on the Christmas classic “Jingle Bells” – we won’t be giving up our day jobs any time soon…

We also hosted a special New Year’s Quiz where students had to identify which country’s traditions were correct and which we had made up. (E.g., did you know they hang onions on the front door in Greece at New Year? No, we didn’t either until yesterday.)

The event was a great success and got everyone in the perfect mood for the holiday season. We wish all our students, alumni and friends of the school a very happy and healthy Christmas and a successful start to the new year!
