The IMI Olym-BIGs

26 August 2016

Taking on the torch from Rio, we held our very own Olympic Games as part of 2016C BIG Week...

The Olympic Games and hospitality have a lot in common: they both demand hard work, a good attitude and focus and dedication.

It seemed very appropriate then that our 2016C BIG Week should be focused on all things Olympic.

Nowhere was this more evident than when we held our very own Games on the IMI campus under the warm Swiss sunshine (just like Rio...).

With events including the egg and spoon race, the water balloon toss and the great hospitality challenge (admittedly not all officially recognised Olympic events) the balance, speed and stamina of our students was challenged.

A gold medal and a place at the top of the IMI podium was up for grabs and the events definitely appealed to our students' inner-Olympians as they battled hard to win medals.

More importantly though, everyone had great fun and enjoyed competing in an international environment - surely the true essence of any Olympic Games.

Thanks to all our participants and volunteers who helped make the event such a success!
