At IMI we are proud of each and every one of our alumni!
It is always extra special however, when their talents and achievements are also recognised by others.
We were therefore incredibly proud of Kurdo-Lebanese alumnus Sari Arab who was chosen as a 'Young Talents' winner at the fifth World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL).
The WTFL is a biennial event that brings together leading industry figures and stakeholders from the tourism industry.
The goal of the Young Talents programme is described by the WTFL website as: "to connect CEOs and talented young people, whilst emphasising the importance of a talent pipeline between universities and the industry."
This philosophy matches IMI's stated goal of supporting our students not just while they are here with us on campus, but also with their future careers in the industry.
Reflecting on his experience at the WTFL, Sari said: "It's been great to be here among so many influential people and industry experts.
"I cannot be more grateful to IMI and Professor Benetatos for nominating me and for their support throughout my journey."
Sari completed his BA (Hons) in International Tourism and Events Management with us in 2016 and completed his dissertation on socio-political impacts on tourism in Morocco.
He remembers his time at IMI fondly, adding: "This would only happen at a place like IMI because the relationship between the lecturer and the student has always been direct and fast."
Congratulations to Sari and we wish him the best with, what we are sure will be, a highly successful career in the industry.
