Relationships with our partner schools are very important to us at IMI and we nurture these as often as possible through visits and collaborative projects.
Through this international knowledge exchange we grow as a school and broaden our perspective and outlook on the global market.
One of our key Asian partner schools is AITM based in Nepal and it was an honour for us to accept an invitation to participate in a special culinary seminar they were organising entitled: Euro-Swiss Cuisine 2018.
With such a culinary focus, we could think of no-one better to send than IMI Culinary Arts lecturer Chef Cemil Dalyan.
Chef Cemil has a broad culinary background having worked in kitchens around the world and, having both studied and taught in Switzerland, he has an extensive knowledge of traditional Swiss cuisine.
During his time in Nepal, Chef Cemil was invited to deliver a keynote address at the seminar which was attended by both AITM students as well as local chefs and culinary professionals from the region.
He also took the chance to get into the AITM kitchens and deliver a European masterclass to their students, introducing them to new ideas and flavours from the continent.
We would like to thank AITM for extending this invitation to us and look forward to hosting members of their faculty here in Switzerland in the near future.
Through such exchange, we develop as educators with not just a local perspective but a truly international outlook!
