To succeed in the international hospitality industry, it is important to have a global outlook and be familiar with as many different cultural perspectives as possible.
That is why, at IMI, we welcome guest lecturers from around the world to expose our students to an international outlook and view-point.
We were very pleased to welcome guest lecturers from partner schools Trisakti University and Swiss German University (SGU) in Indonesia.
Lecturers Ir. Fachrul Husain Habbie, Novita Widyastuti and Tridjoko Sulistito from Trisakti University spent time with our hospitality, tourism and events students and gave them an insight into the development and growth of these industries in the Indone sian market.
Chef Prawira, from SGU, took our culinary students through a range of traditional Indonesian recipes including classic dishes such as Soto Ayam, Acar Kuning and Ayam Panggang Bumbu Bali.
This was a great opportunity for our students to discover new flavour combinations and learn about a country's culinary cuisine from an expert.
Our students really enjoyed the chance to experience a different global perspective and compare the similarities and differences between teaching and learning styles.
We would like to offer a big thanks to all the visiting faculty for taking the time to come and work with our students and we look forward to welcoming many more guest lecturers for future terms and semesters.
