A Right Royal Celebration
Our students had the honour of volunteering at the official birthday celebration of King Charles III at the British Embassy in Bern...
It was, quite literally, a celebration fit for a King at the British Embassy in Bern recently as the IMI students enjoyed an exclusive volunteering opportunity.
To mark the occasion of King Charles III's official birthday, the Embassy holds a party each June where local dignitaries, businesses and other special guests are invited.
With our connections to the Embassy, IMI has had the honour of providing volunteers for the last three of these celebrations.
For our young hospitality and culinary arts students, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience of service at the very highest of levels and offers them an insight into the smooth running and operations of a prestigious event.
Putting their practical training into good use, the IMI volunteers impressed the guests with their professionalism and friendliness and gave a great impression of our school.
They were thanked for their hard work by the British Ambassador to Switzerland, Ambassador Squire who also produced a personally signed letter of appreciation for each of our volunteers.
Reflecting on the experience, Kenyan student Hope said: "It was a great fantastic learning experience for us as students, teaching us how to improve our people skills during service and most of all how to remain resilient when working on our feet."
"Overall it was a really fun and a rewarding experience,” she added.
Another incredible opportunity for our students and one that will live long in their memories!
On-campus live events prepare our students for the industry demands.
