The Higher Diploma programme equips students with the skills needed to succeed at higher level management positions within industry. The focus is on marketing and communications strategy within an international context. Students work individually as well as in groups in order to develop their critical thinking and managerial skills. This challenging programme will prepare you well for a top quality internship either in Switzerland or abroad.

22 week internship placements can be taken after each semester of study. To complete the BA programme, a student must have completed a minimum of 12 months of placements in total.

This unit draws on and builds upon students’ knowledge of marketing, finance, human resources and services within a hospitality context. Students are engaged throughout the unit with a business scenario within Switzerland for which they are required to develop a commercial proposal. Contact Hours: 48

A critical assessement of the important role of financial and revenue management for international firms' decision making. Key financial management concepts are examined with emphasis placed on pricing, investments, financial planning, performance and reporting, indicators, capital structure management and revenue management.

An introduction to basic marketing concepts within the business services sector. A strong focus is given to consumer behaviour theory and consumer purchasing stages. Students' learning experience is complemented by case studies on social media and how this influences modern day consumer behaviour.

This unit aims to introduce students to theories of organizational behavior and human resource management as effective approaches for managing people in modern day workplaces. The unit comprises three main topic areas. An introduction of the organizational context in which human resources management has evolved covering the history, and concepts of organizational theory and behaviour. The basis of traditional human resources management functions and the internationalization of human resources management. Throughout the unit will focus on the application of human resources management within contemporary workplace environments. Contact Hours: 48

This unit focuses on the various communication strategies available to marketeers to communicate with their target audience. Students will consider various online and off-line channels, the importance of appropriate messaging and key analytics and KPIs to measure effectiveness.

This unit explores the many opportunities (and challenges) that an increasingly digitalised world has brought to global corporate marketing. Students will gain an insight into key digital marketing strategies and concepts including CPC marketing, social media campaigns and the impotance of SEO and well constructed websites and landing pages.
