Summer Camp Fun
Our Summer Programme participants had a fantastic two weeks with us, discovering the magic of IMI as well as the beauty of Switzerland...
It was a pleasure to welcome a group of young participants for our 2024 Summer Programme here at IMI Switzerland.
Spending two-weeks on our picturesque, lake-side campus, our guests enjoyed a mix of classes, workshops, excursions and trips around Switzerland in a programme packed full of fun and activities.
This year we were joined by students from Cambodia, Kenya, Malaysia, Switzerland, Thailand and the United States, all of whom are considering hospitality, business or culinary arts degree study for their further education.
Allowing them to experience the types of classes they would attend as an IMI student, the programme aim is to give them a true feel of what it's like to live and study at a leading Swiss hospitality school.
But of course, the programme is not just two-weeks spent in a classroom, there were also lots of fun trips and activities to showcase the diverse culture and spectacular landscapes of Switzerland.
"It was truly rewarding to see our programme participants develop essential skills such as teamwork, cultural understanding and independence during their time here."
Ms. Tamires Giraldeli Segatto - IMI Summer Programme Coordinator
In an-action packed two weeks, our visitors enjoyed city tours of Luzern, Zurich, Bern and Lugano as well as experiencing outstanding views of the famous Matterhorn mountain during a visit to Lauterbrunnen.
The two Swiss staples of cheese and chocolate were ticked-off on tours of the Gruyère cheese factory and the Lindt chocolate factory - two tasty day trips that gave the group lots of delicious souvenirs to take back home with them.
And there was lots of fun to be had in and around campus, including boat tours of Luzern, a ten-pin bowling trip, a lakeside BBQ, and, of course, ending each busy day with a refreshing swim in the clear, blue waters of the lake.

Commenting on the success of the event, Programme Coordinator Tamires said: "We were delighted to welcome these young students to our campus, where they enjoyed two enriching weeks in Switzerland."
"We were really happy with the outcome of the programme, and even more excited that we will be welcoming some of these talented individuals back as full-time students in the very near future," she added.
To round off the programme, the students prepared and presented a visual summary of their time with us and reflected on what they had taken from the programme before enjoying a traditional fondue dinner to celebrate their final evening.
It is always such a pleasure to see our young Summer Programme students grow and flourish during their short time with us.
And it is testament to the success of the programme that so many past particpants have returned to complete their hospitality, business or culinary arts degree study with us.
A big "thank you" to everyone who made our 2024 programme such a success and we hope to welcome back the 'Class of 24' to IMI in the very near future.
