Research Forum Keynote Speakers

11 April 2017

One of the highlights of our Research Forum was the keynote addresses given by five of our BA students...

The motto for our third research forum was "Ideas grow through sharing, not saving."

This philosophy was evident throughout the two day of the forum but never more so than during our five keynote addresses.

Students Helge De Wilt, Keat Ming Chin, Kuyhuoy Kuo, Steven John Varghese and Viktoriia Bilenko presented in detail their research work for their dissertation projects.

In front of an audience of interested fellow students and faculty, the speakers outlined their research sources, their methodologies and expected findings as well as discussing some of the challenges they had faced in their work.

Covering topics such as 'psychological variables in deciding to study hospitality in Switzerland' and 'work motivators for employees in the hospitality sector', the students also engaged in some lively Q&A sessions with the audience members where ideas where challenged and expanded upon.

The idea behind the forum as a whole and the keynote addresses in particular, was for students to come together in a more relaxed, academic setting to encourage the exchange of insights and techniques.

We were delighted with the enthusiasm and participation levels shown by students and feel that all those in attendance took a great deal from their participation.

Many thanks to the faculty and student volunteers who made the forum possible and we look forward to the next opportunity we have to bring together our academic ideas…
