Beer Tasting

10 July 2017

As the summer sunshine shone over Switzerland, our students enjoyed a specially organised beer tasting event...

There is nothing better than a cold beer in the warm weather, a sentiment that was certainly subscribed to by our students as we enjoyed a specially-organised beer tasting event.

Higher Diploma student Tazzio Teeluck was responsible for organising the event and sourcing a range of Swiss and international beers for participants to taste.

Tazzio also delivered a presentation during the tasting, where he explained the brewing methods involved in producing the different beers types and gave the audience a brief history of Swiss beer production.

Highlights of the tasting included the Swiss Full Moon beer which, as the name suggests, is extremely rare due to only being brewed once a month, and the English Samuel Smith’s Premium Brew.

We were also treated to two craft beers produced at local microbreweries – a trend which is becoming increasingly popular as beer drinkers become more discerning in their tastes.

The event was a great success and we would like to thank Tazzio and IMI’s Mr. Kuebler for the efforts they put into organising the afternoon.

As they say in Switzerland… “Zum Wohl!”
