IMI at IGEHO

24 November 2017

We took our students to Switzerland's largest and most important trade exhibition for the hospitality and catering industries...

The hospitality industry is all about making connections, whether this be with customers, employers or suppliers...

One of Switzerland's largest trade fairs for hospitality suppliers and culinary producers is the biennial IGEHO exhibition which is hosted at Messe Basel.

Around 70,000 attendees get to meet 700 exhibitors from 12 countries displaying a wide variety of products, technology and food and drink.

We took a group of our students to visit the exhibition and experience the scale and variety of displays on offer.

As well as being a great way to see and sample the latest market products and innovations, this was also an opportunity for our students to learn the value of networking and making contacts.

Given the chance to speak to a international producers and suppliers, our students learnt about the decision making and negotiation that goes in to choosing the right product or service for your brand or company.

This was an invaluable experience and also a great day out and we cannot wait to attend the next IGHEO exhibition when it returns in 2019.
