BIG Spring

14 May 2018

The Swiss sunshine shone down on our May BIG Week as we held the usual range of events and activities to welcome our new students...

Spring is traditionally the season for new beginnings and fresh starts...

We could think of nothing more appropriate than a theme of "Natural Spring" for our 2018B BIG Week then.

Kastanienbaum in the springtime is a beautiful place to be, with the first real sunshine of the year appearing, colourful plants starting to shoot and baby animals taking their first steps in the surrounding farms and fields.

This makes the perfect environment to welcome our new starters, many of them also taking their first steps in Switzerland as they begin their study programme at IMI.

The BIG Week activities included the classic Luzern city treasure hunt as well as the introduction to Swiss German class, where our Swiss staff members give students their first taste of the native Swiss language.

Speaking of taste, our culinary team excelled themselves this BIG Week, with a delicious Swiss lunch (complete with obligatory raclette) and a sizzling BBQ to round-off the week in style on the Friday.

One of the highlights of the week had to be the BIG Spring Bake-Off though, where students competed in a cake decorating challenge with the most aesthetically pleasing, spring-themed cake taking the prize.

The BIG Week is always a great way for new students to get to know each other, the IMI staff and the returning students. We wish our 18B intake the best of starts and are very happy to welcome them to the IMI family!
