SWISSAM CEO Visit

25 May 2018

It was our pleasure to welcome Russian partner school SWISSAM's CEO Mr. Kostas Sillignakis for his first ever visit to IMI...

One of the ways IMI maintains such a rich and diverse mix of nationalities on our campus is by maintaining excellent relationships with our worldwide partner schools.

In many cases, we have agreements with these schools allowing their students to transfer to IMI to complete their hospitality or culinary education.

One of our longest standing partners is SWISSAM - a specialist hospitality business and culinary arts school based in St. Petersburg, Russia.

It was our great pleasure to welcome recently appointed SWISSAM CEO Mr. Kostas Sillignakis for his first ever visit to the IMI campus.

Spending two days with us in the Spring Swiss sunshine, Mr. Sillignakis spent time with our academic and administration teams as well as observing class sessions and catching up with some of the SWISSAM alumni now studying at IMI.

Originally from Greece, Mr. Sillignakis received his MBA degree from another IMI partner, Oxford Brookes University in the U.K. He has a vast and diverse background in the hospitality industry working with many leading hotel chains as well as on international events such as the London 2012 Olympics.

Since moving into academia he has undertaken various teaching and management roles and currently combines his responsibilities as CEO with the role of Academic Dean at SWISSAM, meaning he still engages with the learning and academic development of students at the school.

It was great to be able to introduce Mr. Sillignakis to our beautiful Kastanienbaum environment and we look forward to many more years of fruitful collaboration between our two institutions.
