Hotel Sonnenberg Visit

17 May 2016

Our BA students following the Hospitality Leadership and Innovation module visited a local hotel to work on a real-world project...

At IMI, we are constantly encouraging our students to apply their classroom learning to the real world.

We find there is no better way of doing this then by actually giving them a real life project to work on.

Working together with Hotel Sonnenberg, located in nearby Kriens, we presented our Hospitality Leadership and Innovation BA students with the task of proposing revenue generating ideas for one of the property’s F&B outlets.

The students must consult with the hotel and generate creative ideas for increasing the company’s F&B income during the quieter winter months.

This project begins with a site visit and the students must then work in groups to put together a report which they must then present to the hotel’s General Manager and Head of Marketing and Finance.

If the hotel likes what they are presented with then there is a very real chance that one of our group’s proposals will actually be implemented at the hotel.

This project is a great way for our students to apply their theoretical knowledge to an actual industry challenge and see how their ideas are received by industry professionals with many years work experience.

We would like to thank Hotel Sonnenberg for their collaboration in this project and can’t wait to see what innovative proposals our students come up with…
