English Tests

04 May 2020

With travel restrictions meaning not all students can attend test centres, IMI will now accept additional online-test results as proof of English language ability...

With travel and movement currently limited, it can be difficult for students to attend testing centres for their English language certification.

Recognising this problem, IMI’s UK validating partner Manchester Metropolitan University has expanded the number of certifications they will accept to include three online versions.

Going forward, the following additional online test results will be accepted when applying to IMI for one of the Manchester Met. degree programmes:

  • IELTS Indicator (IELTS Indicator Score Check Account Name: IMI International Management Institute, Switzerland)
  • TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition (IMI's institution code on the TOEFL website is C699)
  • LanguageCert International ESOL online exam
  • NCUK English Language Test

These three online tests will be accepted in addition to the usual tests that are taken face to face. IMI will still be accepting all previously recognised face-to-face test results.

It is hoped these changes will make it easier for students wishing to apply this year and allow them to undertake the English test from the safety of their own homes.
