Good news!

We are pleased that the situation in Switzerland has continued to improve, with further easing of restrictions announced a few days’ ago by the Swiss Federal Government and a confirmation that the 19th June will mark the end of the “extraordinary situation” in Switzerland, relating to Covid-19.

We are also glad to report that IMI campus remains free of any known coronavirus cases.

Following the confirmation from the Swiss Federal Authorities, we can confirm that physical classes are allowed to start again from the 8th June.

August and November intakes 2020

There are no changes to the August and November intakes for 2020, which are expected to proceed as normal.

For the August 2020 intake:

  • Check-in for all students possible from 21st August 2020
  • The semester and BIG Week induction start 24th August 2020
  • Classes start 31st August 2020

For the November 2020 intake:

  • Check-in for all students possible from 13th November 2020
  • The semester and BIG Week induction start 16th November 2020
  • Classes start 23rd November 2020

Both intakes are already heavily subscribed and limited accommodation options remain available, both on campus and externally. Therefore, if you are planning to start or continue your course in the August or November intakes, it is recommended that you complete your enrollment and pay the registration fee immediately. This will secure a spot on the programme, be allocated a room on campus or in Mattenhof apartments, as well as to be able to start the study visa application/renewal process. The deadline for the first installment for the August 2020 intake is also due soon and we advise you to settle it, where possible, before submitting the study visa application so that the proof of partial payment can assist in the process.

As regards visas, we have received a notification yesterday which is very positive.  Foreign students, who need to submit a study visa application or collect the study visa authorisation at the respective Swiss Embassy/Consulate in their country, can proceed to do so as per the usual process.  With a valid study visa/authorisation, it has been confirmed that students will be allowed entry into Switzerland for their course.  To read the official communication about the easing of border restrictions, please refer to: https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home/aktuell/news/2020/ref_2020-05-27.html

In addition, for those prospective students who have conditional acceptances and may still have to produce the IELTS of TOEFL test result, please note that should the physical tests not be currently held in your country, IMI can accept IELTS Indicator and the TOEFL iBT At Home scores.  If you have questions about your eligibility to join the August or November intakes, please do contact Mrs Greta Frey on  info@imi-luzern.com or Mobile/WhatsApp +41 78 704 4129 for individual guidance.
