Digital Signing for MoU

25 August 2020

In a very modern digital signing ceremony, IMI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia...

As an international hospitality school, travelling the world and meeting new and existing students and professional partners is something we take great pleasure in.

With the current situation, such travel has not been possible; however this has meant we have had to find new and creative ways of connecting with our global stakeholders.

For the recent signing of an MoU with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, we employed the same Microsoft Teams technology that we use to teach students who have had to start their study programme from home.

This allows all the relevant parties to come together from their various locations and gives the signing a much greater sense of ceremony than if the documents had just been sent across through a faceless email.

From the Indonesian government, we were delighted to connect with his excellency Mr. Kurt Kunz, The Ambassador of Switzerland for Indonesia, Her Excellency Dr.  Kartini Sjahrir Pandjaitan, Special Advisor to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Dra. Ni Wayan Giri Adnyani, Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Economy Creative and Dr. Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, Head of Tourism Human Resources Development Centre and Economy Creative.

It was also a pleasure to welcome fellow educators to the ceremony including the Chairman of Bandung School of Tourism and the Directors of Bali Polytechnic of Tourism, Palembang Polytechnic of Tourism, Medan Polytechnic of Tourism, Makassar Polytechnic of Tourism and Lombok Polytechnic of Tourism.

IMI was represented by Owner and Founder Mr. Heinz Bürki alongside CEO and Dean Prof. Theodore Benetatos and Director of Operations and Partner Schools Prof. Gavin Caldwell.

We are exited to take this first step in what we believe will be an exciting and mutually beneficial partnership with the Indonesian Ministry and we look forward to working more closely together in the pursuit of tourism and economic development.
