Swiss Degree accreditation achieved

We are delighted to announce that IMI Switzerland is now officially running a Swiss federally-recognised programme...

Following over four years of programme creation, quality audits, monitoring and hard work, our Swiss Degree in International Hospitality Management programme (also known as the Diplom Hôtelier/ère-Restauranteur/rice HF) is now successfully recognised by the Swiss Federal Government

This makes IMI unique in becoming the only private, family-owned school in Switzerland to deliver such a programme in English. 

The recognition is another stamp of approval for IMI and highlights our school's commitment to excellence in business, hospitality and culinary management education.

Reacting to the news, Programme Leader Dr. Carrie Ann Brühlmann said: "Going through the recognition process was challenging but also incredibly rewarding every step of the way.

"We learned a great deal and I am very proud of this milestone."

With the accreditation, comes a change in the entry requirements for this programme, which now no longer requires applicants to have prior work experience. Therefore, students who are 18, have an IELTS level of 5.0 or higher and a High School Diploma or equivalent are all eligible to apply.

The structure of the programme remains the same with its strong focus on management, practical and language skills. The theory students are taught in class complemented by three paid, work placements along with the opportunity to learn German as part of their study.

A big thank you must go to Programme Leader Dr. Brühlmann as well as the rest of our Academic and Administration teams who worked so hard to secure this accreditation. We look forward to welcoming even more students onto the programme in February 2021!
