Coronavirus Update

01 March 2021

Current situation update from IMI International Management Institute...

With our first term of 2021 now well on its way, we are pleased to see that all our new students have settled in nicely and all other students are fully immersed in their studies.

We are also pleased to report that IMI currently has no Covid-19 cases on campus, and we continue to implement guidelines and safety procedures to ensure that this remains the case. All incoming students from outside Canton Luzern and/or overseas continue to follow a period of self-isolation when reaching the IMI campus.

Please refer to the following updates following the Swiss Federal Government’s press conference this week:

Academic Matters

Remote learning continues at universities and the requirement for home office remains applicable. The Swiss Federal Government will provide another update on this later in March.

Therefore, the current situation at IMI remains unchanged with lectures being taught online through MS-TEAMS, and practical service/kitchen classes, plus assessments and tutorials, being delivered normally in face-to-face mode.

Essential guidelines

We continue to urge all students and staff to remain vigilant and continue to be responsible. We currently implement the following guidelines, as well as those from the Swiss Federal Government.

  • A distance of 1.5 metres from other people should be observed at all times.
  • Face masks are compulsory in all areas of the campus, except whilst eating or for students in their bedrooms.
  • Students and staff should avoid meeting in groups.
  • Students and staff should wash their hands regularly and use the disinfectant provided by the school.
  • Students and staff should avoid unnecessary trips away from the campus and, if they do have to leave the campus, should be careful and observe the above guidelines at all times.
  • Visitors are allowed on campus solely for business reasons or meetings, with prior approval from one of the Directors, and must always sign in and sign out at Reception.

Students contemplating travel outside of Luzern and/or overseas are obliged to relay any travel arrangements to Mrs Frey on info@imi-luzern.com or on TEAMS in advance. IMI Travel Guidelines remain applicable until further notice.
