STP Bandung Guest Lecture

17 March 2021

Although we are currently unable to travel, this doesn't mean our lecturers cannot still connect with our international partner school students...

As a school with an international outlook, there is nothing we love more than travelling to visit our various partner schools and connecting with their academics and students.

This has obviously not been possible in recent months, so we have had to come up with new and innovative ways to connect with our partners.

One way of doing this has been through virtual guest lectures such as the one delivered by IMI's Dr. Brühlmann to students at our partner school STP Bandung in Indonesia.

Focusing on the topic ‘Leadership in Hospitality’, Dr. Brühlmann connected with 24 students via Zoom and utilised a range of other online teaching software including Educandy and Mentimeter.

Even though the lecturer and the students were on different continents, the class was still really interactive with the students engaging well with the topic.

There was even a connection with IMI’s history as the Bandung staff member responsible for this class currently has his daughter studying at IMI!

Both lecturer and students took a lot out of the session and it is great that we can still share our varied international perspectives and learn from each other even without being in the same room.
