Coronavirus Update

05 May 2021

As we offer a very warm welcome to our new and returning students for Term B, here is the current situation update at IMI...

Term B at IMI has now officially started, and we are pleased to report that classes will resume in face-to-face mode on Monday 10th May 2021.

We are also delighted to report that we continue to have no reported cases of Covid-19 on campus and offer a reminder that all incoming students from overseas are subject to isolation/quarantine.

Term B

Important dates for Term B 2021 are as follows:

  • 10th May - Classes start
  • 13th May - Public Holiday
  • 24th May - Public Holiday
  • 3rd June - Public Holiday
  • 16th July - Last day of Term B and check-out

These sessions will continue to be taught online, until such time comes when they can also be facilitated face-to-face.

Should there be any variations to the above, or the physical class sizes exceed the allowed limits from the Swiss Federal Government, IMI will make relevant amendments and students will be notified accordingly.

Essential guidelines

Throughout Term B, students, staff and visitors should continue to follow our hygiene, health and safety guidelines, as well as those from the Swiss Federal Government. The main points to remember are:

  • A distance of 1.5 metres from other people should be observed at all times;
  • Face masks are compulsory in all areas of the campus, except whilst eating and in your bedrooms;
  • Avoid meeting in groups;
  • Wash your hands regularly and use disinfectant;
  • Avoid unnecessary trips away from the campus and if you have to leave the campus, please be careful and observe the above guidelines at all times;
  • Visitors are allowed on campus solely for business reasons or meetings, with prior approval from one of the Directors, and must always sign in and sign out at Reception;
  • Students contemplating travel outside of Luzern and/or overseas are obliged to relay any travel arrangements to Mrs Frey on info@imi-luzern.com or on TEAMS in advance. IMI Travel Guidelines remain applicable until further notice.
