We are delighted to report that we continue to have no reported cases of Covid-19 on campus. We, once again, thank all students and staff for following the guidelines given by IMI and the Swiss Federal Government.
More easing of restrictions in Switzerland
As from this week, the Swiss Federal Government has eased more restrictions – this is great news for all! Below you will see the latest updates which are currently in place:
At the moment, there is no obligation to be vaccinated in Switzerland.
Nevertheless, if you have a valid B permit and you would like to register to be vaccinated in Switzerland, please go to the following website https://lu.impfung-covid.ch/ and complete the form accordingly - please inform IMI Reception once you have received an appointment notification.
If your health insurance is organized through IMI, when registering please do not fill in the health insurance card number and tick the option instead. You need a Swiss mobile number to be able to register for the Covid-19 vaccination. The vaccination centre closest to IMI is at Luzern Allmend.
For more information, please read the information provided by the Swiss Federal Government - https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/krankheiten/ausbrueche-epidemien-pandemien/aktuelle-ausbrueche-epidemien/novel-cov/impfen.html - vaccinations approved for use in Switzerland are Pfizer Biontech and Moderna.
The cost of the Covid-19 vaccination is covered by the Swiss Federal Government. Before going for your vaccine appointment, please collect a supporting document from Reception, which was issued by the insurance company, to take with you to the appointment. You will also need to take your B permit and health insurance card.
In addition, up to 5 self-tests every 30 days, available from Swiss pharmacies, are free of charge. The cost for rapid tests requested by individuals, regardless of whether you have symptoms, are also covered by the Swiss Federal Government.
Should you have any queries regarding the above please contact Mrs Sarah Käslin in the Finance Office for advice and guidance, or Reception in her absence.
If you are living or on internship in another Canton, then please check with the relevant Canton as you can only register for the vaccination in Luzern if you are living here.
Please continue to be vigilant and contact Reception IMI immediately on MS TEAMS if you feel unwell or develop typical Covid-19 symptoms.
