It was great to expand IMI's global partner network further with this agreement which will allow AAH to offer globally recognised courses to their Sri Lankan students.

The official signing ceremony and launch was held virtually with the the senior management teams from both institutions connecting online.

AAH is an Australian investor driven organisation and now becomes the first Sri Lankan learning center to offer 100% Swiss qualifications in international hospitality and tourism management. The first intake is scheduled for October 2021 with the Swiss curriculum being delivered by lecturers from AAH who have received specific training from the IMI academic team.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Kalum De Silva, Managing Director AAH stated: “Since our launch in 2018, we have been growing steadily as a specialized Hospitality Training Provider in Sri Lanka. With this partnership AAH becomes the first institution in Sri Lanka to offer international hotel and tourism management qualifications from the home of hospitality, Switzerland, thus providing access to globally recognised qualifications in Sri Lanka. I am confident that this partnership will grow and help maximize the potential of our young graduates.”

The AAH students will have the opportunity to learn from visiting IMI faculty and will have the option of transferring to Switzerland to complete their bachelor’s degree at IMI on completion of the Advanced Diploma in Sri Lanka.

IMI’s CEO and Academic Dean, Prof. Theodore Benetatos said: “Here at IMI, we are very excited about this new partnership with AAH to deliver our own Advanced Diploma. We are confident that young, talented Sri Lankan students will benefit enormously to achieve their dream career with the right education and training. We are committed to the long-term development of hospitality professionals within Sri Lanka through this partnership.”

Everyone at IMI is very excited to commence this academic partnership with AAH and we are looking forward to strengthening and developing the collaboration over future years. We very much look forward to welcoming the first AAH students to Switzerland to experience hospitality education in its birthplace!
