Short CoursesSummer Programme
As we break for our Summer campus closure, we remain free of any known cases of Covid-19 and we continue to monitor the situation closely, as well as follow the guidelines of the Swiss Authorities.
Travel Borders with the EU and EFTA countries, plus the UK are now open and it is possible to travel there. Please take note of the quarantine regulations in the next section before planning any trips and please keep in mind that generally the Swiss authorities advise against any unnecessary travel.
As from Monday 6th July, if you are travelling from any of the following countries, please note that you will have to undergo quarantine for 10 days. The list of high-risk countries will be continuously updated by the health authorities, so please ensure you do your research before travelling.
The current list of countries, in alphabetical order, is:
If before travelling to Switzerland you have spent time in the above countries in the previous 14 days, you must inform us immediately since the local Cantonal authorities need to be informed and you will be obliged to go into quarantine for 10 days.
Airlines and coach companies are instructed not to transport sick passengers. Anyone not observing the above regulations may be liable to a fine of up to CHF 10,000, so please ensure you do follow the rules.
Any students returning for the August 2020 intake who need to quarantine are requested to arrive at IMI on Friday 21st August 2020, so that by the 1st September, you are able to attend classes as normal. If you are unable to arrive on Friday 21st August 2020, then please contact Mrs Frey for further advice on email@example.com
Face masks – compulsory on public transport
As from Monday 6th July, if you travel on Swiss public transport (buses, trains, boats etc), you are obliged to wear a face mask. If you are at IMI and you need to purchase a mask, please go to the Reception.
Follow recommendations/check e-mails
Based on the current situation, we advise students and staff to continue to follow the recommendations circulated by IMI Switzerland and by the local authorities: Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Canton of Luzern Health Authorities.
Please note that instructions may change at short notice, so IMI Switzerland continues to keep students updated on developments and therefore it is imperative that students on campus or on internship check their IMI email address several times a day. This is to protect yourself and others should urgent action need to be taken.
