It was great to welcome all our new students (and welcome back our returning students) for our August intake...
After our Summer break, it was a great feeling to have our campus alive and active again as we welcomed our new August intake.
Traditionally our busiest term of the year, we welcomed new students from 22 different countries from as far away as Australia, Japan and the United States.
However, before they started their hospitality management, business or culinary arts study, we made sure they were fully settled in with another busy BIG Week induction week.
The BIG Week is always an intense but enjoyable part of the term as we take care of all our new students’ needs – from picking them up at the airport, checking them in on campus, introducing them to their study programme and even giving them a quick crash-course in Swiss traditions and culture.
This BIG Week was no different with students enjoying guided tours around the campus, a challenging Treasure Hunt activity around the city of Luzern, and a fun quiz at the end of the week testing how much attention they had been paying.
All our new arrivals really embraced the activities, and it already feels like they have been part of the IMI family for months not weeks.
Reflecting on her first week at IMI, new Indonesian student Elizabeth Gundjojo said: "From the moment I arrived, all the people here were really caring and made me feel very comfortable.
"I learned a lot in each of the sessions held and I have to say that it was such a warm welcome for us here, showing that the staff are really prioritising the students."
As we now settle into the normal class and social schedule of the semester, we can’t wait to get to know them better and share with them so many new and exciting experiences.
Be sure to keep tuned in to our social media channels to stay up-to-date with every new adventure!
