Hyatt Training Trip

22 June 2017

Our MBA students attended an exclusive two-day training trip conducted by Hyatt International in Zurich...

If you want to become the best, it helps to be trained by the best...

With this in mind, we took our MBA students to visit Hyatt International in Zurich for an exclusive, two-day training workshop.

Visiting both the company's head offices and their Park Hyatt Zurich property, our students were presented with a variety of seminar sessions and interactive workshops.

The focus of day one was on Talent Management and formed part of the students International Hotel Management study unit.

Delivered by Mr. Yves Givel, VP Human Resources - EAME/Southwest Asia at Hyatt Hotels Corporation, and organised by Mrs Katrin Melle, Regional VP Human Resources Hyatt International, our students learnt about the key skills required to develop and manage personnel across an international organisational hierarchy.

Day two was based at the Park Hyatt Zurich, a 5-star property in the city centre, where a half-day course on Human Resource practices was led by Mrs Stephanie Hurttle, Area Director of Human Resources Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Monaco, and Mrs Sarah Katharina Maur, Learning Manager Park Hyatt Zurich.

We were also delighted to run into our alumnus Saranjeet Singh who followed a two-year corporate training programme with Hyatt and is now working as an Event Service Team Leader at the property.

We would like to thank the team at Hyatt for a highly engaging and informative two days and we are sure our students will return to campus with a much greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in the management of human resources and personnel.
