First Swiss Degree intake

27 February 2018

We were very excited to launch our brand new Swiss Degree programme at the start of this semester…

Term 2018A saw our very first intake for our Swiss Degree (HF Diplom) in International Hospitality Management programme.

The nine students, from countries including Bolivia, India and Vietnam, will go on to complete three study semesters, each followed by a paid, practical training placement.

Recognised by Kanton Luzern (and awaiting Swiss Federal validation) one of the main benefits the students will experience is the opportunity to learn both French and German as part of their studies.

Each year of the programme has a specific focus, with the first year training and placement concentrating on Housekeeping and F&B, the second year offering more culinary training and the final year allowing students to complete a supervisory internship.

Students completing the three year programme can then move directly to the final semester of our BA (Hons) Hospitality Degree programme and achieve a UK-validated degree award in just six-months.

This structured approach, alongside the advanced-level language skills on offer, follows the Swiss education model’s emphasis on practical training and strong, international communication skills.

Completing the programme with a recognised Swiss qualification, 18-months of additional work experience and enhanced language fluency means students are strongly placed to enter the industry and build their management careers.

Our first set of students are already enjoying the varied learning methods and intensive nature of this course and we cannot wait to welcome our next intake in August 2018…

Students enrolling on the Swiss Degree programme in August 2018 are entitled to a 50% reduction in tuition fees for each semester of study. Apply for the programme here.
