Open Week

20 July 2018

It was our pleasure to welcome the participants for our July Open Week on campus where they could get a true sense of life at IMI...

We understand that selecting a university study programme is one of the biggest decisions a student will ever have to make.

It seems to make sense then, to be able to experience what the study environment is really like before making the financial (and often relocation) commitment.

This is why, at IMI we offer both Open Days and Open Weeks where prospective students can visit the campus, meet current students and faculty and attend actual class sessions and student events.

For our most recent Open Week we welcomed visitors from Indonesia, India and Singapore all interested in one of our undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. Their visit coincided with a beautiful spell of Swiss Summer sunshine, meaning they could enjoy both the campus and the city of Luzern at their best.

To help the students get to know the local area we arranged a city tour of Luzern where they explored the many sites of culture and historical interest of this beautiful town as well as seeing the shops and restaurants and taking in the stunning lake and mountain scenery.

Next came a hike around the IMI campus in the relaxing Kastanienbaum countryside where our visitors made friends with the horses, hens, pigs and other animals on the local farms as well as exploring the forests and sampling goods at a traditional Swiss Bauernhof.

After all that exercise, we felt it was time for a bit of a treat, so took our guests to the nearby Aeschbach chocolate factory where they were able to design their very own chocolate bar as well as tasting the delicious range of confectionary produced by this leading Swiss chocolatier.

As well as the many trips and excursions, there was also time for the students to participate in actual classes alongside current IMI students, giving them a great opportunity to interact directly with our faculty and ask any questions they had.

All of our guests had a fantastic week and had nothing but nice things to say about the experience and the people they had met during their time here. We very much enjoyed hosting them all and hope to see them back here at IMI very soon!
