A Winter's BIG Week

19 November 2019

With the snow starting to fall on the mountains and thoughts turning to the ski season, we celebrated our 2019D BIG Week...

The temperature is dropping and the days drawing in, but this did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for our 2019D BIG Week event!

With a theme of ‘Winter is coming’ we embraced the seasonal change and celebrated all the fun that can be had during the Swiss Winter period.

We started the week as any cold, winter day should begin, with a warm, freshly-prepared BIG Breakfast, where our students could build up their strength and energy for the activities ahead.

After the popularity of the event last BIG Week, we brought back our Speed (Friendship) Dating event which once again proved a BIG success with students finding out lots of new fun facts and information about their fellow new arrivals.

Another BIG Week classic is the BIG City Treasure Hunt and, as ever, our students excelled at the series of photo challenges and trivia questions that we set them to be completed in-and-around the city of Luzern.

Aside from all the ice-breaking activities, we also held sessions on grooming, Swiss bank account opening, essential academic information and a full day of internship and careers briefing, including a CV workshop.

Once again, the week went by in a blur and it seemed like no time before we were hosting the Friday BIG Quiz of the Week and giving out awards and prizes.

The whole idea behind the BIG Weeks is to give our students all the essential information they will need for their time at IMI and in Switzerland as well as helping them settle into their new environment as quickly as possible and getting that IMI Family feeling. We look forward to another busy and exciting term ahead with our new arrivals!
