We are delighted to welcome Mr. Beat R. Wicki as our new CEO and Academic Dean! He brings with him vast experience of the hospitality education sector...

As a school that prides itself on producing future industry managers, we know the importance of good leadership.

With former CEO Prof. Theodore Benetatos returning to his homeland of Greece, we were delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Beat R. Wicki as our new CEO and Academic Dean.

Born and raised in Luzern, Beat has extensive experience within the hospitality education sector, having worked for a number of schools in both a teaching and managerial capacity.

With a Master’s degree in Biology, he started his professional career as an environmental officer before moving into the hospitality sphere in the mid-1990s. He has subsequently worked as a School Leader, Director and CEO at various institutions, giving him extensive experience in all areas of hospitality and business education.

Reacting to his welcome at IMI, Beat said: “I am so grateful for the warm and familiar welcome I received from everyone at the school.

“I am very excited for this new challenge and hope to further develop the school together with the whole team based on the strong foundation set by Prof. Benetatos and the Bürki family.”

As a school, we are very excited to embark on this new chapter with Beat and look forward to building upon the already excellent academic standards and student experience on offer as we go forward together.

We wish Beat all the best in his new role!
