Second IMI Research Forum

11 April 2016

Students at IMI are not just here to learn from textbooks but also to challenge and question what they hear in the classroom.

Through their dissertation projects, students are able to tackle a subject of their choice in great depth and produce a piece of work that, in some cases, furthers the development of thinking in that field.

Our second IMI Research Forum allowed our students the opportunity to present their research findings to an audience and receive feedback and ideas through Q&A sessions.

For this event, we were happy to welcome Dr. Petruta Rusu who delivered a keynote address on "Research Across Boundaries: The Psychology of Marketing" examining the key cognitive and emotional factors that influence our purchasing decisions.

Our students then covered a broad range of topics from dark tourism in Syria to the influence of Instagram on our travel experiences.

All presentations were insightful and entertaining and strong audience participation made for fruitful discussion and debate. As well as entertaining our audience and guests, we are confident that participating in the forum will also add to the studentsΓÇÖ research work and final dissertation submissions.

In addition to the forum presentations, we also held a poster competition where students were challenged to summarise their research findings in an engaging and accessible way through a poster design.

Thanks to all our students who participated in the forum and poster competition as well as the Organising Committee who spent many hours ensuring the event was so well prepared and executed.
